Maison Margiela Rubber Mary Jane Tabi Heels

Size 36 (EU) Maison Margiela's split-toe Tabi recast as a rubber Mary Jane heel. The dark olive upper has a smooth, moulded appearance, with a low-cut front, slim buckled strap around the ankle and a substantial cylindrical heel. Martin Margiela introduced the Tabi at his first show in 1988, borrowing the divided toe from traditional Japanese footwear. Here, rubber changes the character of that familiar shape: the finish feels closer to a rain shoe, while the strap and raised heel retain the outline of a classic pump.
